Here you can find some information on how the region can be explored with the bike and the bike school.
Downhill, Enduro, Hardtail, or e-bike enthusiasts of all skill levels will be able to enjoy the Bike-Region Schladming-Dachstein with 11 Bike-Hotels to the fullest. Also touring bikers will have the opportunity to climb surrounding mountains on 26 different trails or to explore the valley riding along the Enns bike route. And finally, everyone who prefers to dismount to hike the last ascent of the day will enjoy our 24 Bike & Hike tours.
If you want to collect your first experiences on trails, you can find two Mini-Bikeparks with short conveyor belts – regardless of whether you are young or still young-at-heart. However, if you are looking for steeper and more difficult terrain/trails the Bike Park Schladming and the Reiteralm Trails are going to offer you plenty of action-loaded challenges.
Bikepark Schladming
PLANAI-BACKYARD MOUNTAIN OF ALL SCHLADMINGERS AND FAMOUS WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL BIKE CIRCUS.
Even though the bike park was opened 15 years ago, the transformation of the last two years has taken everything to the next level. In the year 2018 the bike region was expanded by building the Reiteralm Trails. Additionally, as part of the gondola rebuild several new trails covering all styles and skill levels were set up.
Since the season of 2020, the brand new 10-Seater gondola takes you from the valley to the Planai´s summit within 12 minutes. Given 1000m in altitude, you can choose from 11 different trails with a total length of over 33km. The Bike Area is located beside the Märchenwiesenhütte at an altitude of 1743m near the Planai Gipfelbahn top station and offers 3 beginner tracks to learn gravity mountain biking.
The Bike Area welcomes riders of all ages. Our team from the bike school is looking forward to teaching you and your kids the basics of mountain biking here. Have you heard of the Uphill Flow Trail? Climbing 460m in altitude within 8 km of length this trail is the real e-bike highlight in the bike region Schladming-Dachstein.
From 2004 to 2009 the UCI MTB Downhill and Four Cross Worldcup were held annually at Schladming. The World Cup downhill track enjoys cult status as it has made true legends such as Sam Hill. In the Film “Deathgrip” Brendan Fairclough labeled the track as the best track in the world which can be considered as the accolade for the downhill track.
Reiteralm Trails
NEW BIKE TRAILS IN SCHLADMING-MOUNTAIN BIKE HOLIDAY ON THE REITERALM
In 2018 the bike region Schladming was upgraded by building the Reiteralm Trails. Now 4 single trails clearing 700m in altitude with a total length of 15km and some Junior Trails are waiting for you.
The two blue (easy) and two red (intermediate) trails will help you to take your riding to the next level. Additionally, two old hiking paths have been classified as shared trails and can now be used by bikers as well as hikers. Furthermore, the Preunegg Jet is open 5 days a week to ensure that bikers can use the new trails extensively.
To use the gondola, single-rides, half-day, and full-day tickets can be purchased, whereas holders of the Schladming-Dachstein Sommercard will get a price reduction. Furthermore, the Reiteralm bike rental and service center is also located at the valley station of the Preunegg Jet. Of course, we as Bike School Pekoll are happy to ride the trails of Reiteralm with you.
To make the transfer between the bike parks Planai and Reiteralm easy, you can use the bike shuttle which is going back and forth the valley stations in Schladming and Reiteralm four times a day.
